Are You Trying To Compete With Google?

Google processes over 63,000 questions every second. The average person asks google for an answer at least 3-4 per day.

Did you know that you are constantly competing with google to teach your employees, customers, and teams how to do the things they need to learn to be successful?

Google processes over 63,000 questions every second. The average person asks google for an answer at least 3-4 per day.

If your courses are primarily information (content) based, then you are directly competing with google every day.

Does your course have the same quick, immediate result that google does?

And if it were you, would you sit through a long online course or classroom session OR would you just google it? Be honest.

Right. So how do we create effective, results-based learning in our companies?

By creating learning experiences that help people apply the content directly to their jobs.

People are inundated with information, facts, and figures. No one needs more information and they certainly don’t need extra information that isn’t pertinent to them delivering results. (Que the about the history of the topic you are teaching).

Effective learning experiences in today’s workplaces must inspire, motivate and engage learners to DO something different than they were doing before. They must practice and be active in their learning. Today’s learner only needs the information to support what they must DO in their role. They must be in the driver’s seat.

So how do you do that? Create learning experiences that engage and activate the learner’s ability to succeed in their job. Each learning activity should be contextually accurate and allow them to practice using real experience and case studies. Celebrate real wins when they apply it to their real work. This takes creating a journey or experience, beyond the quick module or class.

Want to start the transformation process for your current courses and classes?

Consider these first steps:

1. Identify ONE quantifiable result that they will be able to DO once they complete the training.
2. Create one actionable exercise that puts the learner in ACTION to practice that result.
3. Provide them the context around the result to fill in the details they need to be successful.

If you look at your current training with these three steps, your training will start to move the needle to results.
